Biography: Jeff Cloke is a sound artist who has long been fascinated by the sound of the space itself, as well as the sounds made in the space. Using a microphone and delays, sounds are replayed into the space repeatedly. Jeff has developed an individual technique and language based on an immediate rapport with the resonant frequencies of the space, which gradually reinforce themselves, creating harmonic interactions within the space. Making work with other artists, sounds are combined dynamically within the context of constantly evolving harmonies and rhythms, in order to create a unique, shifting soundscape derived from both the instruments/voices and the space. Jeff has performed extensively in the UK and Europe both as a solo artist and in combination with dance, film, painting, the spoken word, and other musicians.
