Biography: Patrick Valiquet (Pino the Frog) is a multi-media artist and programmer living in Vancouver
Program Notes: fldlab is a three-part composition comprised entirely of data gleaned from peer-to-peer file-sharing networks. I attempted to treat the files as randomly-accessible databases, manipulating the data using global algorithms rather than cutting and splicing in the manner of traditional tape or dance musics. Finally, the resulting three sections of the piece were replaced on the network under their original titles, to be downloaded by unsuspecting users. The titles of the sections are:"Je T'aime, Moi Non Plus","Angel Baby", and"Surf's Up".
